| We thought that it would be of value to offer our comments on the recent increase in loan and deposit interest rates in New Zealand and the effect that you may think this will have on both property investments already acquired and investments presently being contemplated.
There has been some volatility in New Zealand interest rates during the last twelve months. We wish to reassure you that in ourview this is a very good time to buy into or own New Zealand investment property, with the market having become progressively stronger since the start of the 1990's and particularly over the last three years.
But we think it is necessary to look at the recent history of the New Zealand economy and why the interest rates have climbed. The historical examination and in particular the background to the present interest rate changes, is intended to be brief and punctual rather than a full dissertation on the subject.
